Ever since the devastating news broke that Matthew Perry died at the young age of 54 years old, many have been in mourning. Friends, family, and fans have been mourning the sudden loss, and many have been wondering how the cast of Friends has been handling the heartbreaking news. While our hearts are with them as they navigate the grief, insiders claim one Friends star is being quite proactive in ensuring those who Perry loved will be okay.
Insiders have told DailyMail that Lisa Kudrow will not only attend any and all events honoring her departed best friend, but she may even adopt his beloved dog.
“Lisa and cast will all be attending his services. Lisa is also considering taking in his beloved dog Alfred,” the insider said.
Back in 2021, Perry adopted an adorable dog named Alfred, a doodle mix, who he often featured on his social media.
Not only was Kudrow one of Perry’s best friends (who, if the insider is true, maybe Alfred’s new dog mom), but she wrote the incredibly touching forward in his memoir.
For the forward of Perry’s memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, she wrote: “So, I just focused on Matthew, who could make me laugh so hard every day, and once a week, laugh so hard I cried and couldn’t breathe. He was there, Matthew Perry, who is whip smart … charming, sweet, sensitive, very reasonable and rational. That guy, with everything he was battling, was still there. The same Matthew who, from the beginning, could lift us all up during a grueling night shoot for the opening titles inside that fountain.”
Kudrow also revealed the sweet gesture he did for her: he gifted her the cookie jar from the Friends set that became an inside joke between them, which she couldn’t believe. “I think the first thing I asked was, ‘This was so nice—did you get permission?’ I mean, my car used to get searched every night when I left,” she said.
On Oct 28, 2023, news broke that Perry suddenly died after an apparent drowning accident in a jacuzzi at his Calif. home.
