Oklahoma City firefighters have shown that a paddle boat can be used to save a dog stranded on the shore.
The Oklahoma City Fire Department posted on Facebook that the Oklahoma City Fire Department responded to a call for help at an Oklahoma City home located near water. The dog looked like an Golden Retriever. It had fallen through the frozen ice. The man who was holding the rope was a dog owner.
The firefighters found a paddling boat at the beach and thought it was perfect for the rescue. A firefighter got into the boat and climbed to the dog, pulling it from the icy water.
Firefighters on the shore pulled the paddleboat in, after it had slid over the ice. Easy!
The dog was “no injuries apparent” according to firefighters, except that it looked very cold. The dog was reunited with its family after a job well-done, and hopefully just in time to enjoy some delicious holiday treats.
